Multi-threaded Design Increases Performance
c-treeACE is highly multi-threaded. When c-treeACE resides on an operating system platform that provides efficient multi-threading (Windows Vista and Solaris 10 for example), then c-treeACE uses the native operating system services. In other operating systems, FairCom builds multi-threaded capabilities into the core engine itself.
Performance and response characteristics of the FairCom threaded client/server model are unmatched by traditional enterprise-wide relational databases. The total amount of throughput a multi-threaded architecture achieves actually increases when the first additional users are added. c-treeACE utilizes previously unused time spent waiting for locks, I/O operations, etc. The efficient manner through which c-treeACE utilizes low-level threads delivers exceptional performance.
